Delta Air Lines, Inc., commonly referred to simply as Delta, are one of the largest airlines in the United States. They also have a legacy carrier. Its headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. Delta Connection is a subsidiary of Delta Airlines. It operates more than 5,400 daily flights and services 325 destinations in 52 different countries across six continents. Delta is a founding member in the SkyTeam airline alliance.

There are nine Delta hubs. Atlanta is the largest, both in terms of passengers and departures. It ranks second in the world for number of passengers, revenue passenger-kilometers, and size. It ranks 69th in the Fortune 500. The company motto is "Keep Climbing."

The history of Delta Air Lines begins with Huff Daland Dusters, Inc., the first ever aerial crop dusting company in the world. The company was established in Macon, Georgia on March 2, 1925. It then moved to Monroe, Louisiana in the summer of 1925. The Huff-Daland Duster was the first crop duster to be flown, and it was used to fight the boll weevil invasion of cotton crops. C.E. Woolman, general manager and later Delta's first CEO, led a group of local investors to acquire the company's assets. Delta Air Service was founded on December 3, 1928 and was named after the Mississippi Delta region.
